The botanical garden of Rotterdam was the setting of one our first dates some nine years ago. Ever since, we love to go back and wander through it. Each season has its own special displays in the garden. The garden is quite large and includes a small glasshouse, which houses a wonderful collection of cacti and succulents.
Last Saturday we visited the garden again with our grandparents (in-law). There has been a long drought here in The Netherlands, but nonetheless the garden looked beautiful and green as ever. Come and have a look;
The garden has nice bridges, each slightly different in shape;
There are also some animals in the garden; fish, birds, tortoises. Some real, some not;
Let’s have a look at the glasshouse, often my favourite part of botanical gardens;
This is a tulip tree that has a special symbolic meaning for me;
Two pictures of the same place; the one on the left during early Spring, on the right in Summer;
And finally the small and romatic rose garden;
Hope you enjoyed this walk! Time now to sit and have a rest.
