Prepping the skin for colder months

This is a simple recipe for a face mask that is very pleasant for this time of the year. When the weather becomes colder and wetter we wear warmer clothes, equally our face can use a bit of extra care. You can rub the wheat bran gently onto the skin and then it doubles as an exfoliator.

Mix one tablespoon each of

  • Raw honey
  • Wheat bran
  • Oil (e.g. sesame, almond, olive)

Usage; Mix well and use right away. Wash your face before applying. Gently rub the mask onto your face and neck. Leave it on for a couple of minutes and then rinse off.

Honey– there are many skin benefits of honey for your skin. With its moisturizing and soothing effects, raw honey can hydrate the skin, leaving it soft, radiant, and glowing. Furthermore, the sugars in honey help increase the water content and reduce dryness in the skin even after they have been washed off. Raw honey also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Wheat bran– is a highly effective ingredient for face masks especially for oily skin. In addition to B vitamins, minerals and fiber, it also has anti-inflammatory effects.

Sesame oil– is full of ingredients that greatly benefit the appearance and texture of your skin.┬áIt improves circulation, helps remove skin toxins and aids the skin heal from blemishes.
